Gameboy Advance emulators have not changed much over the years, as Visual Boy Advance has remained the best Gameboy Advance emulator, basically since it was released. The only other emulator that comes close to Visual Boy’s features is NO$GBA, which also emulates the Nintendo DS. NO$GBA however, is a shareware emulator, while Visualboy Advance is free. The Game Boy Advance often shortened to GBA) is a handheld video game console developed, manufactured and marketed by Nintendo. The Game Boy Advance is the successor to the popular Game Boy, and is the first handheld Nintendo game system to use widescreen on all games. Released in Japan, North America and Europe in 2001 and China in 2004, some people consider to Gameboy Advance to be a portable Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), because of many of the games that had almost identical graphics to the SNES, such as the Super Mario series.
