Emulators for Macintosh (Mac OS X)

Here you will find a collection of various emulators available for use on your Macintosh. My laptop is a Macbook Pro, so I know how much of a pain it can be sometimes for find emulators. The vast majority of these emulators are coded by Richard Bannister who is basically the king of Mac OS X ports for Windows based emulators. Most of the emulators are quite on par with the Windows counterparts. In addition to Bannister’s emulators, you may also be interested in his Emulator Enhancer module (only works with Bannister’s emus). This is a shareware module which adds the following additional options: Auto Fire, Custom icon generation, Full screen mode, Network play (some emulators). Real time video and sound filtering and support for USB game pads and joysticks. If you have any issues with the console and/or computer emulators listed here, it is highly recommended you try SDLMESS (SDL source can be compiled for MacOS, Linux or Windows). If you are looking for the famous arcade emulator MAME, you can either get the out dated MAME OS X, or the up to date SDLMAME, which like SDLMESS can be compiled for MacOS. This page is work in progress, so if anything is out of date, missing, or incorrect, please notify us.
