Guru has posted news regarding his Star Wars Racer Arcade ROM dumps that may appear in MAME eventually:
6th July, 2008
As part of the on-going Saga of dumping, it was one of my goals to hook up the Star Wars Racer Arcade and take a few pics and videos before I pull it all apart and dump it. Since it’s a Sega game from 2000, it’s not so easy to do that because of the special power and cable requirements. I’ve been slowly collecting various bits and pieces from different places in order to make that happen. Today was THAT day and here’s a few pics. I’ve left the pics big to show some details, but your browser should make them fit on screen. Once they’ve loaded click the pic to show it full size.

MAMEUI 0.125u9 (previously named MAME32) is a build of MAME with an integrated frontend. MAMEUI seems to be the popular choice for users of the MAME emulator, as its easier to deal with than a command link based version of MAME. This version of MAMEUI is available in both 32bit and 64bit versions. Download MAMEUI 0.125u9 at our MAME page.

Here it is, MAME 0.125u9, which should be the “U” release of the MAME 0.126 cycle, unless some annoying, last minute bug crept into MAME V0.125u9. A list of changes in MAME 0.125u9 over the previous release is as follows:

Heres what R. Belmont had to say:
I’ve been working on a MAME UDRC frontend for the SH-2 for just under a week now. Last night it finally made it all the way through the suprnova BIOS and into the Cyvern boot code without errors (including handling interrupts). There are still several instructions left to implement before it actually shows something, but so far so good so what, right?
Before someone asks, this will speed up ST-V (and Saturn in MESS), Kaneko SuperNova, Psikyo SH-2, and CPS3. And SH-2 is a pure subset of SH-4 (aside from different boot vector semantics) so once done this frontend will make a fine starting point for an SH-4 UDRC.

Peabo has posted some news on his development on Sega Model 2 Arcade game emulator. The main thing is the support and improved colors for Neutral Gear. Neutral Game is a Sega arcade driving game from 1994.
The colours are almost perfect now. There are a few problems with the dark greens, blues & grays (the grass, tires and sky reflection are the most prominent examples of this), but they can certainly be fixed as they were fine when ElSemi originally tired this method to fix the colours in early versions of 0.5. It must have been something else that was changed between 0.5 and 0.8 that makes them so dark in the new screenshots. Unfortunately ElSemi forgot exactly what he changed!
Luckily I can run the boards to look at the actual colours for reference. ElSemi’s ones run a bit too bright on his monitor, unfortunately. It’s probable that they will be perfect (at least in Daytona) in 0.9
By the way, there is a new feature in 0.9: meshed textures that are resolution dependent. So you will still see them if you run Daytona at a high res.

Wine 1.1.0 is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X, OpenGL, and Unix. Think of Wine as a compatibility layer for running Windows programs. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely free alternative implementation of the Windows API consisting of 100% non-Microsoft code, however Wine can optionally use native Windows DLLs if they are available. Wine provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Solaris. Wine 1.1.0 has the following changes:

Here it is, MAME 0.125u8;, the six “U” release of the MAME 0.126 cycle. A major bug crept into MAME V0.125u7 release at the last second, please grab the small update to MAME 0.125u8. There will still be a MAME V0.125u9 next week, and hopefully a MAME 0.126 to follow shortly thereafter. An important note about this release: inclusion of debugging support in MAME is no longer optional. That is, you can still disable it (using the -nodebug option, or setting ‘debug’ to 0 in your mame.ini file), but you can no longer compile without it. This will give a small-ish performance hit (under 5% in most cases) in exchange for always being able to pull up the debugger and will reduce the test matrix necessary to verify MAME’s behavior. A list of changes in MAME 0.125u8 over the previous release is as follows:
