DEmul was the second Dreamcast emulator for Windows ever to be released that actually played commercial games. DEmul started to development early in 2004 year by Wind, but just Chankcast got canceled. Now DEmul is able to run most commercial releases by various groups all along with homebrew demos and free software. DEmul is still imperfect and incomplete. Demul is now available for both 32bit and 64bit Windows operating systems. This WIP update of DEmul has the following changes:

Dknuke posted the following info on his progress on Naomi support in Makaron, a Dreamcast emulator for Windows.
I can boot a few games (both cart and GD-based – assuming I have the GD decryption key), but there are some serious Maple <-> JVS translation issues. This protocol differs a bit from what I found in the JAMMA docs and without access to the hardware there is little chance of me figuring out what exactly is broken.
Not to mention some games require special input devices – like a bat :) I wonder if it’s based on fishing pole hardware (which will be next to impossible to properly emulate anyway)..

Sound, timing and graphics need improvement and speed up. This WIP update of DEmul has improved sound support, but this may affect speed especially on slower processors.

Three days of updates from dknute regarding Makaron, Dreamcast emulator for windows, so get ready for a rather large WIP report of Makaron:
refraction has released the first addon to add netplay support to nullDC, quite possibly the best Sega Dreamcast emulator for Windows. Be aware, this is the 1st release, its very buggy, far from perfect, and the author(s) know this. Do NOT hassle them if you run into problems using it, as they are already aware of the issues. Download at our Sega Dreamcast emulation page.
According to this post, ZeZu, one of the authors of what many people are calling the best Dreamcast emulator available for Windows is asking for those who can help with the following:
drkIIRaziel has released a brand new Dreamcast emulator, capable of playing commercial games! (Nice April fools day gift, even though this emu is totoally legit). It is a plugin based Dreamcast emulator for Windows, and is capable of running under Vista. The official site for this emulator should be functional within the coming week. Otherwise, you can download from our Sega Dreamcast emulation page.
