nullDC for PSP news

After many many many many many months of inactivity drk||Raziel has finally started some real work on the dynarec on nullDC for PSP.It now features a basic IL with a working decoder frontend and backends for x86/arm/mips-allegrex.Work is also currently done to port the code to Wii/ps3/ps2 ( only if libstdc++ worked …)/xbox.

PSP Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-3

PSP Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-3 is a bug fix release to the previous custom PSP Firmware 5.00 M33-2.  A bug was introduced in 5.00 M33-2 that made some games and homebrew not to work.
and PSN version check is now automatically bypassed without need of touching any setting.

Fatmsmod 3.71 PSP firmware 5.00 M33-3

fatmsmod is the fat file system memory stick driver of Sony. Since 3.80, its speed decreased a lot, mainly noticeable in isos, that’s why in that time Dark_Alex released a program to flash the 3.71 driver in 3.80 (and resolve some incompatibilities). This is same, but updated for 5.00.

popsloader for 5.00 M33-2

Dark_Alex has released popsloader for custom PSP firmware 5.00 m33-2. Pops loader is Playstation One Portable Station that loads games intended originally for the Sony PSX console onto the PSP. Popsloader is described as an emulator. which allows the use of games designed for other consoles and/or platform such as PC, in this case the PSP console and PSX games.  The emulator makes use of the PlaystationPortable hardware and certain modules which allow for almost seamless play of almost all of the playstation one catalogue on the portable. This is possible because the portable uses software to render the games found originally on the PSX.

Dark_Alex, the one who owns everyone in the “PSP sk3n3″ with his PSP firmware hacks is at it again with three releases today. Custom PSP Firmware 5.00 m33, 1.50 kernal addon (Phat) and pspstates2 (experiemental):

- Bug fix: when changing speed in xmb, and the psp turned the brightness to 0 automatically the speed was reseted to 222 again.

Despertar del Cementerio “Universal Unbricker” v6

PSP Homebrew developer / Firmware “h4×0r” Dark_AleX has updated his Despertar del Cementerio “Universal Unbricker”. Like previous releases of this “PSP unbrick”, the unbricker can be used in conjunction with a Pandora battery to restore and install custom firmware on any PSP unit regardless of model or motherboard, except for the newer, PSP SLIM TA-88 units. This update has a redesigned GUI that mimics that of the XMB. Version 6 also installs custom firmware 4.01 M33-2 and allows users the option of booting the firmware directly from memory stick. Dark_Alex custom PSP firmware 4.01 M33 and 4.01 M33-2

Dark AleX has released the latest custom firmware for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) with custom firmware 4.01 M33 and 4.01 m33-2 with these changes:

– Bug fix: vshmenu didn’t let change camera mode due to camera_plugin using select button.
Fixed, now vsh menu will not be loaded when using the camera.

- Recovery can now be translated, See how below. Translation to spanish is autoincluded.
- Updated the M33 SDK with a new function and sample, and released the psp-packer tool to
compress prx’s and PBP’s in the ~PSP format.

- The folder of 4.01 and higher homebrew will be GAME4XX so it won’t need change on update.

- Nids resolver: Fixed scePowerGetCpuClockFrequency issue. This is the same bug that happened in 3.80 M33-1, it won’t happen again ¬¬

- Fixes recovery problems that have apperared in prior version (incorrect position of back string in language others than english, enable, and disabled strings not translated in plugins, hide pic0+pic1 couldn’t be changed, language file in flash1 wasn’t working..

- Spanish recovery translation typos fixed.

Dark AleX has released the latest custom firmware for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) with custom firmware 3.90 M33-3 – with improved NO-UMD compatibility for PSP. This 3.90 M33-3 firmware release enhances the compatibility and performance of the M33’s NO-UMD driver. This firmware release also has compatibility increased to support games like Coded Arms, Patapon, Harvest Moon Innocent Life and probably others affected by same errors.

PSP Emulator (Proof of concept) (2008/03/01)

This is a new PSP emulator for Windows. This PSP emulator does not yet play commercial games yet. (2008/03/01) Partial (and buggy) lighting support. Some cleanups. Starting gui for breakpoints and gpu (not working yet). Corrected callstack. Some fixes; more homebrew demos supported. Temporally skinning broken. Temporally shaders disabled. Updated binaries. Reduced size of the font used in dissasembler and memory viewer. Allowing reduce dissasembler window size; now imports won’t overlap). Initial support of opening files (not working fine yet). Threading support currently disabled (I have to fix some issues). mstick and reflection demos not supported yet. Download at our PSP emulation page.

Dark_Aliex PSP Custom Firmware 3.80 M33 and Firmware 3.80-M33-2 update

Dark_AleX / Team M33 has released the much anticipated new custom PSP firmware 3.80 M33. 3.80 m33 firmware will allow you to run both new PSP games requiring this firmware, but homebrew/emulators as well. The good about these 3.80 firmwares (other than the obvious ability to run the games and use homebrew) is that it updates purely with a Sony update EBOOT. Basically this means, any risk of PSP bricking should be eliminated since you are not at any time compiling your own update. This is very good news for PSP users (especially myself) who may not want the hassle of creating a Pandora Battery in case of bricking. Unofficial gpSP Kai v3.2 Test 8.6

Takka has updated his version of this Gameboy Advance emulator for the PSP once more, as the page is in Japanese the news has gone through a translation mangle to get here so lets see what’s come out of the other end (translation via Dr Zoidberg at blueguerilla.org):

  • Wireless LAN environment is not the way from here
  • Fonts created for the conversion tool, is included.
  • Comments pointed out that there was garbled Cheat Code of the character code encoding to UTF-8N changed.
  • Windows2000 (maybe XP) than Notepad, save time, you can choose a character code.
  • Windows95/98/me of the conversion software, or to use unicode compliant editor please.
