Aristotle’s Mudlord & Rice Video is a graphics plugin for various n64 emulators such as Project64 and 1964. The plugin already has good texture caching. What it didn’t have was proper handling on the memory freeing, and it doesn’t have pre-loading of the textures. Right now, once a texture loads, it doesn’t have to reload from the hard drive, unless you change to or from full screen. Best example on how this is working now, is with Castlevania: LOD, using Gitech’s graphics pack. You’ll notice a big difference. Also further corrected the fog rendering. The author noticed some areas that it ended up tearing, like on Castlevania: LOD. This should be fixed now.

Glide64 is a graphics plugin for N64 emulators such as Project64, 1964 and Mupen64. It uses the 3dfx Glide3x API, and it supports many games. If you don’t have a 3dfx card, you can use a Glide Wrapper. This project was started on December 29th, 2001. The current goal is to make Glide64 sources portable. This is ‘Napalm’ + widescreen resolutions support + texture dumping. Due to lack of time no emulation related issues were fixed. Thus, if you don’t have wide monitor or don’t need texture dumping, you may use previous release.
Important note: you must set fullscreen resolution in the wrapper settings before the first run. This version uses different format for resolution variable, and old value stored in the registry will not work.

sixtyforce is an emulator that runs Nintendo 64 games. It does this by dynamically translating the code that a Nintendo 64 uses into something your Mac understands. Nearly every part of a Nintendo 64 has been painstakingly recreated entirely out of software to pull off such an amazing feat. Download sixtyforce and try it yourself!

Updates to this N64 plugin Glide64 have been posted. This plugin allows you to modify N64 games with high-resolution textures to get better graphics during gameplay. Of course, not many people still have 3DFX cards, and for those who don’t, you can always use a Glide Wrapper. Update 4 of GlideHQ has higher compatibility with RiceVideo hires textures format and a noticeable improvement in image quality.

Interesting news or N64/64DD fans. According to this post:
Thanks to our member and good friend, Kammedo, 64DD dumping is now fully possible in practice, not just myth.
Using Partner, a KMC n64 and (theoretically) any DD( retail or dev), the images can be transferred from magnetic medium into eternity.
I would like to personally thank Kammedo, because thanks to his dedication and efforts, the world over can now perhaps be a step closer to enjoying the legend of what is 64DD, even if they aren’t one of the lucky few who can afford it.
Obviously, this is a technical triumph, so naturally don’t go around asking for dumps. We all know they will happen one day, preservation being my main concern, but also it might give way to dev disks being uncovered, with corey’s M3 disks comming to mind first.
Great job Kammedo
Could this be good news for people who were hoping for an emulator for the 64DD?

An unofficial build of 1964 (good Nintendo 64 n64 emulator for Windows) was released. This allows games which ran less than optimally on original hardware to be able to run the best they can. Goldeneye for instance works at a real 60fps (which is roughly 60Display lists/sec), and it’s like another game seeing it so smooth.
