CCS64 is a Commodore 64 Emulator for PC and also in the future other platforms. It was developed by Per Håkan Sundell. CCS64 is shareware. This means that the program is free to use and to copy, but if you like it and use it regularly you would register the program. CCS64 is a program that runs on your PC that turns your computer into an old Commodore 64 computer. This means that the program simulates, or rather emulates the old computer, enabling you to run most of the old software you had for that old machine, running it just like it would in the past. Of course there are some small differences compared to the real thing.

I dont know how many of you are still around from when i put up my first ever website back on my CSUN.edu account (Dave’s Commodore 64 emulation page) back in 1995. For those of you who weren’t, it was a page and tribute to my favorite 8 bit computer the Commodore 64. It had emulators, games, and SID music files to download. Anyway,  has actually written a cool article that pays tribute to this machine, which first appeared in 1982. It was also the first computer i had that got me “online”, with my 300 baud modem calling BBSes back in 1986. :P

VICEplus is a fork of VICE. Its most important extension currently is C64DTV support.

Has it been 25 years since the Commodore 64 arrived? It may sound scary for those of us who had one, but yes, 1982 is when the C64 appeared. In order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Commodore 64, a lot of time and effort has been devoted to game Gamebase 64 project over the past months and finally, after overcoming technical problems and eradicating persistent bugs, they have released the GameBase64 Collection V05 in all its online glory! The database contains 20000 entries with full support of the High Voltage SID Collection (HVSC #47).

Ok. I had a C64 from 1985 through about 1992 (using is regularly), so naturally i love the High Voltage SID Collection! The High Voltage SID Collection (HVSC) is a freeware hobby project which organises Commodore 64 music (also known as SID music) into an archive for both musicians and fans alike. The work on the collection is done completely in the Team and contributors’ spare time and is proudly the largest and most accurate computer music collection known.

71 fixed/better rips
2 fixes of PlaySID/Sidplay1 specific SIDs
13 repeats/bad rips eliminated
664 SID credit fixes
160 tunes assigned a sidmodel flag
