GlideHQ update 4
Updates to this N64 plugin Glide64 have been posted. This plugin allows you to modify N64 games with high-resolution textures to get better graphics during gameplay. Of course, not many people still have 3DFX cards, and for those who don’t, you can always use a Glide Wrapper. Update 4 of GlideHQ has higher compatibility with RiceVideo hires textures format and a noticeable improvement in image quality.
- If “tile textures” option is on, GlideHQ will split wide texture on several tiles and put them in one 256-width texture. This tiled texture takes much less video memory space and thus overall performance will increase. However, corresponding polygons must be split too, and this is not polished yet – various issue are possible, including black lines and polygons distortions. In any case, backgrounds must not look as on your screenshots, even with texture split – check, how it works for me. I’ll check other issues later. Thanks for reports!

- I knew, that it would be hard to reproduce the way, which other plugin work with textures. But reproducing RiceVideo is a nightmare. Rice’s way of tile size calculation is so sophisticated, so I have a lot of troubles, trying to fit it into Glide64 texture processing.

- Fixed (mostly) texrects alignment issue.

- Fixed bugs in RiceVideo style palette loading. Paper Mario hires characters now work in dark places too.
